Life Bridge

A new chapter. The same heart for people.

If you have known me through Life Bridge, you already know the heart of this work. I have closed my counselling practice after 22 years. What continues is the wish to walk with people, now through writing, reflection, educational speaking and retreats hosted with time to pause.

The story behind the change

Life Bridge grew from a commitment to helping people navigate life’s challenges and find connection. For 22 years, that commitment had a counselling room at its centre. I am grateful for every person who trusted me with what they were carrying.

Individual counselling is no longer offered.

I am carrying those years with me, together with my background in nursing, education and retreat facilitation. The work now brings them into one place: stories, reflection, educational speaking, and retreats hosted with care.

I am Lyn Baird. Life Bridge Pty Ltd remains the business behind the work. What has changed is the form, not the wish to walk beside people for a while.

Kinnaird Castle, Angus. Our home for seven nights.

An invitation to Scotland

The Threads Between Us is a ten-day women’s retreat through Scotland. We begin among the stories of Edinburgh and Dunfermline, before Kinnaird Castle becomes our home for seven nights.

The days leave room for meaningful places, for companionship, and for time to pause. You are welcome if you are travelling alone, with a friend, or with your mother or daughter.

The retreat page holds the journey itself: where we stay, how the days unfold, and the practical arrangements.

Experience that travels with me

My first retreat was in 2004, at a place called Open Doors. Since then I have led journeys in Israel and Greece, walking where stories we had read became landscapes we could stand in. Other retreats have been quieter, and closer to home.

What I hope to offer in Scotland is that same attention: a table to gather around, places with a story, and room to listen without being hurried.

This retreat offers reflection and connection. It is not counselling or clinical treatment.
